Nollywood Actor Junior Pope Is Dead

The death of Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope has been confirmed by the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas,bringing to an end the many rumors in circulation that he survived the boat mishap,where he and some of his colleagues fell into the river on their way back from a movie set.

The late actor and three of his colleagues were coming back from a movie location in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra on Wednesday.
Pope junior’s passing was finally confirmed by Rollas,in an instagram post he made on Thursday to disclose the sad development.
The post stated, “It is so so sad that our joy was shortlived.
“My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers. Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail.
“God knows the best. We finally lost him”.
Junior Pope joined the Nollywood industry in 2006 and started out featuring in movies taking up minor characters.
He got his big break in 2007 in the Nollywood blockbuster movie, “Secret Adventures”, a movie directed by Tchidi Chikere.
During his acting career,he featured in over 150 Nollywood movies.
He won his first award for Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Entertainment Factory Awards in 2010,and several others soon followed,including,
Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actor of the Year at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, among others.
Since the confirmation of his death,the movie industry has been gripped with shock by the tragic loss of their colleague.
