The Sally Bawa collection prominently featured hand painted detailing and embel- lishments, making the one of a kind piece she showcased stand out. Bold and strong were the looks from the stable of King Hakbal. His designs made mostly with fabrics like cotton, wool damask featured unique bespoke men’s suits and cassuals, but with a touch of elegance. Same too can be said of the men’s collection by Ouch, Kola Kudus. But the big excitement for the 3- day’s event was stirred up by the colleting by JPK. The and silence expressed their approval of the plus size models who catwalked the runway in corset top worn on pants and body hugging evening gowns, all of which were tastefully tailored to flatter the plus size model’s looks. Fashion for Life’s choice of colourful prints in chiffon were quite stylish.
So did the House of Nwocha’s collection screamed high elegance, with some drama created by her use of bold pattern cut outs arch it fectually placed on the fabric.
The fashion movement in Africa has come of age, producing a flavour of the unique style that is bound to make the continent the place to be for style inspiration for the fu- ture. That fact become clear at this maiden edition Ecowas Fashion Week.
