The former Executive Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Dame Barrister Grace Zemayé Egbagbe was among the individuals honoured with the highest Knighthoods in the Catholic Church, the Knighthood of St Gregory The Great and the Knighthoodof St Sylvester the Pope, conferred on them by His Holiness, Pope Francis, as recommended by their diocese.
On February 22, 2025, at the 22nd anniversary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cathedral,Auchi, Edo North, Edo State, as well as the episcopal ordination of the Bishop, Barrister Egbagbe was invested as a member of the Knighthood of St. Gregory the Great,(KSG), in acknowledgement of her outstanding contribution to the growth and development of the Catholic Church, as one of the soldiers of Christ in defending the faith.
Speaking on the significance of the knighthood investiture, the Bishop, Most Rev’d Gabriel Dunia said the few people who were honored were representing the multitude who have been helping the diocese.”They show a sign of faith in their work”, .he explained.
For Dame Grace Egbagbe,her investiture as a member of the Knighthood of St Gregory the Great is a call to do more,as she thanked the Pope for the recognition.
According to her,”this esteemed title embodies the value of compassion, service and faith,which l try to uphold.It gives me a profound responsibility to do the best l can in service to others and in doing good”.
