A post on social media by Afrobeats singer, Adekunle Gold, has stirred a lot of music lovers minds on account of a claim he made on his X handle about what’s going on in the Nigeria music industry presently, which is now a source of concern for him.
He questioned the credibility of many people in the music industry, claiming that they are unfit to run the affairs of the sector or represent it,describing them as the wrong people to lead the sector.
According to Gold, these people are not music oriented and have since overshadowed talented artists, producers and other creatives who should be in the forefront of stirring the affairs of the music scene in Nigeria.
Gold’s post on his X handle reads:
“People who have no business leading music conversations are now controlling and destroying the industry.
“Artists, producers, and real contributors are being overshadowed by people who don’t create, don’t understand, and don’t respect the craft.
`When the wrong people lead the conversation, they push the wrong narratives. That’s why real talent is overlooked, and mediocrity thrives. Congratulations to everyone involved.’
His post has since gone viral, igniting reactions from many within the music industry who are now asking to know who these people Gold is calling out as not being music oriented are that are now dominating the music industry today.
