Following the leadership crisis rocking the Lagos State House of Assembly, on Monday,36 lawmakers passed a vote of confidence on the newly elected Speaker, Princess Mojisola Meranda, as their choice of who should steer the affairs of the House.
In a motion moved by Honorable Oladipo Ajomale,representing Oshodi/Isolo 2,he said that the Speaker has been elected by the lawmakers on strength of their confidence in her ability to lead the House.
The motion was seconded by Aro Moshood,followed by the remaining 34 lawmakers, all of who passed a vote of confidence on the Speaker, Mojisola Meranda.
On Monday,operatives of the Department of State Security, DSS, and Nigeria Police Force took over the Assembly complex at Alausa, Ikeja, to ensure adequate security during the plenary.
After the vote of confidence, the House adjourned sitting till further notice.
