The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has been sacked from his position by President Bola Tinubu, His sack was made public in a statement from the State House on Tuesday, with the Presidency replacing him with Tunji Disu, the Assistant Inspector General of Police
overseeing the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.
The new Acting Inspector General of Police’s appointment takes immediate effect.
The leadership change is said to be part of ongoing efforts to reform the Nigeria Police Force and strengthen internal security and operational efficiency.
