The National Assembly witnessed a commotion on Wednesday, when a ministerial nominee, Balarabe Abbas from Kaduna State slumped in the Senate, during the screening of three
new ministerial candidates nominated by President Bola Tinubu, that includes Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
The Senate President had announced that the president nominated Abbas to replace the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, who was not screened and cleared by the Senate due to security reasons.
Abbas slumped during the ministerial screening after reading out his profile, an incident that forced the Senate to go into a close session.
