Popular Nigerian Juju and highlife singer known for lewd lyrics in her songs that earned her the title of general overseer of “sinners chapel”, Lady Iyun Ajilore a.k.a. Saint Janet, has passed away.
She reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, 2 August, 2026.
Regarded in the entertainment sector as the ‘G.O of Saint Bottles Cathedral’, Janet was famous for blending gospel-style openings with candid, adult-themed highlife and Juju lyrics.
The unconventional and unique juju artist released some ‘controversial’ hit albums that includes, ‘Faaji Plus’ and ‘5G Plus’, which pushed cultural boundaries and drew massive underground popularity within the Nigerian entertainment space.
Her choice of lyrics in her style of juju music is what stood her out quickly within the juju music genre and often sparked debates over censorship and obscenity,especially when she held her live performances.
