Ebenezer Obey Gives Advise To University Graduates

Music legend, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, who was a special guest of honor at the signing-out ceremony of 79 students from the sixth graduating set of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has advised Nigerian students to use their knowledge and skills to inspire positive change to the country and contribute to its development.
The ceremony held at the Ebenezer Obey Music and Life Skills Institute, Abeokuta Centre, on Saturday, where the music legend urged the graduates to let their achievements reflect the values of discipline, hard work, and service to humanity, explaining that the centre was established to empower young people and give back to society through education and moral development.
The 79 graduates were drawn from the departments of Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration, and Mass Communication.
Speaking at the ceremony , former Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Professor Sabiru Adesanya, commended the institute for its role in human capacity development and urged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the institution.
The Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Dr Lateef Mustapha, who also spoke at the event described the graduation as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and lifelong learning, noting that the affiliation demonstrates that higher education should go beyond classroom instruction to include moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and community service.
He reminded the graduates that real success would be measured not by grades, but by the positive impact they make in society.
The director of the institute, Mr Adekunle Durosinmi, seize the opportunity of the event to stress that the growing number of graduates reflects the confidence students have in the centre’s academic and professional programmes, which continue to blend moral values with skill-based learning.
