Following the resignation of the former council chairman, Tunde Azeez,the son of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa,has now been confirmed the substantive Chairman of Agege Local Government
Azeez, who had been on medical leave barely a month after his administration was inaugurated on July 27, 2025,formally stepped down on Wednesday over persistent health challenges.
His resignation letter was read by the Leader of the House, Adeshina Haruna, during plenary at the Agege Council Chamber. The lawmakers unanimously voted to confirm Abdul-Ganiyu,who had been acting in the role as substantive chairman.
