Tomeka Thiam,the wife of music star,Akon,has formally filed for divorce,bringing to an end their nearly thirty years marriage.
According to reports,Thiam filed court documents in Fulton County, Georgia, on September 11, 2025,as she sought the dissolution of their union on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.
This move of Thiam is happening days before their 29th wedding anniversary.
In her petition, Thiam requested joint legal custody of their daughter, but asked for primary physical custody, with visitation rights granted to Akon.
The news of the crash of their almost 3 decade old marriage has shocked many of Akon’s fans,who were unaware there was trouble brewing in the home front.
