The father of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, has finally spoken on explained why he buried his son quickly.
According to Joseph Aloba, his son’s death was announced on September 12 and he was laid to rest the following day, as he was only respecting Yoruba culture by burying the artist quickly.
In a recent interview shared by Temilola Sobola (@TemilolaSobola) via Instagram on Tuesday, Mr Aloba claimed it is customary not to delay burial if both parents are still alive.
Hear him, “In Yoruba land, his corpse is not the kind to be kept when both of his parents are still alive.
“That land where Mohbad was buried is his only land, that is the only land I know him to have owned.
“Truly he gave me the land to build my church because we had both agreed to build the church there and since that’s the only land I knew him to have, I decided to bury him there”.
Following all the reports that has been posted on social media suggesting foul play in the manner of his death, it’s been reported that the body of the 27-year-old artist may be exhumed to determine the cause of his death, so as to enable the Police conduct a proper investigation into the circumstances leading to Mohbad’s death, one which has shaken the country with the youth calling for justice for Mohbad.
